DAY THREE :

SESSION I A – The beginning of Thought.


  • Discussing “Nasadiya” – The Creation Hymn. Background references by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, Philosopher & President of India (Oxford University lectures) , Dr. Carl Sagan, Astrophysicist ( COSMOS).



  • An introduction to the Vedas.

SESSION I B - The Mahabharata.



  • Selective viewing of Peter Brook’s Mahabharata.

    • The Dice Game.

    • Krishna & Arjuna.

    • The Killing of Drona.
  • Analysis and discussion on all 3 episodes.

  • Understanding how the Mahabharata works at 3 levels.

    • The Physical

    • The Ethical.

    • The Metaphysical.

The role of various players for creation of each of the 3 themes. The issues of Life that binds the themes.

SESSION II – Free Time



SESSION III. – Understanding the Power of Yoga and Meditation.


  • Yoga with whom or what?

  • Meditation on whom or what?

  • Where and how they originated? Their background logic. Their spread to all parts of the world and acceptance by modernity.

  • Elementary Phenomenology
  • Asana, Pranayam and “Chakras”

  • Application in Health and Disease
    Exploration of Psychoneuroimmunology and Psychoneuroendocrinology

[This is a lecture session. Everyday hereafter a separate morning session before breakfast will be scheduled for teaching participants the basic yoga exercise and the actual practice of meditation.]
